What is so special about private alternative investments (AI’s)?
Well researched and selected AI's have the ability to be productive in both bull and bear markets, in turn, saving the investor years of time required to make back losses. We are one of the few firms nationwide specializing in private AI’s. Read more about hedged investments here.
Why aren’t private AI’s more widely used by other wealth management firms?
Those using equity-based products don’t generally understand the intricacies, advantages and value of AI's for their clients. Instead, most firms prefer solutions offering greater market correlation, enabling them to utilize market behavior as the reason for poor performance. Also, the re-engineering process required to perform quality AI research while evolving a firm's back-office and staff, requires a multi-year evolution that most firms could likely not endure. What is the difference between public and private investments?
Public investments (PIs) including mutual funds, ETFs, and index funds are available to most every investor. Fees charged range from low to high (varies per fund), liquidity is typically daily, and PIs are generally correlated with the broader stock markets remaining unprotected from market swings.
Private investments require that investors qualify by having a defined net worth, offer monthly to quarterly liquidity and sometimes charge both annual and performance fees. Nonetheless, private funds attract the industry's strongest talent, have low correlation to the broader stock market, and utilize alternative strategies to remain protective and productive regardless of market direction.

What is the value in your firm being a fee-only fiduciary?
We have been a registered fee-only advisory firm from our inception in 1997. Fees charged by fee-only firms grow only as their client accounts grow. They must also act as fiduciaries, meaning they must always prioritize their client’s best interests over their own. We chose this route because this is the only way we, as individuals, would choose to be served. Secondarily, the fiduciary standard is a legal requirement for individuals with CFPs, and for firms registered with either their respective state or the SEC, as we are.
What is the minimum investment amount required for a new client/couple/or entity?
Our minimum requirement is $1 million, as this amount enables us to create a diverse, defensive, and productive portfolio by diversifying through 8-10 separate managers. Most managers require a minimum investment of $100,000. Dollars are investable through both retirement and non-retirement accounts.
