Foundational Estate Planning
How can I preserve my estate now and for generations to come?
At the foundational level, estate planning is essential for everyone, no matter how large or how small the estate. Revocable living trusts help keep your estate out of probate, keep the details of your estate private, allow you to incorporate asset protection for your heirs, provide you the opportunity to direct when and how your wealth is distributed and avoid conservatorship in the event of incapacity. Having additional, ancillary documents in place, including advance healthcare directives, a living will, durable powers of attorney for financial management, and guardian nominations for any minor children, makes all the difference in ensuring that you, your children, and your assets are protected should something happen to you.
We do things differently than most estate planners and include processes designed to fill the gaps frequently found in other estate plans. For families with minor children, we include a full Kids Protection Plan at no additional cost. This includes both long-term and short-term guardian nominations, instructions to guardians, and an emergency card to be kept in your wallet.
